The 2012 partner goal is 100. With 76 partners to date, over 50% of our goal has already been met! Four months into 2012, we have already surpassed our 2011 total. Of these, 69 have already fulfilled or are current with their pledge.
Become a cord that builds the bond of a strong rope sustaining a dynamic and growing Orthodox Christian outreach media ministry...
And if one prevails against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Ecclesiastes 4 verse 12
Ecclesiastes 4 verse 12 speaks of oppression, toil and friendship. The Bible uses the image of a threefold cord that isn't easily broken. Scientifically, three cords are so much stronger than a single or double cord. Time and time again, I am awestruck at the cohesive bond of our OCN family. This strong bond allows us to focus on our mission of spreading the Word of our Christ-entered Orthodox faith throughout the world.
The bond first begins with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whose grace, despite our fallen human nature, allows us to move forward in doing His work.
Our staff is the second cord in this bond. Beginning with our leader, Fr. Chris, whose dedication to this ministry is steadfast, in sickness and in health. I will never forget the story Presbytera Georgia told us when Father was in ICU fighting for his life. Even in an unconscious state, he was uttering the words, OCN…OCN…OCN!
During this same hospitalization, Fr. Chris was visited by his spiritual leaders, Archbishop Demetrios and Metropolitan Alexios. Just as they provide love and guidance for OCN, they showed love and care for their ailing son. Their prayers were answered by God and Fr. Chris has been back stronger and more determined than ever!
Our board, staff and volunteers are just as dedicated.
We have individuals who are fighting major illnesses, yet still remain loyal to their work for OCN. Individuals like Dora who has a tumor wrapped around her spinal cord, yet from her hospital bed, still insists on completing an OCN project. Individuals like Ashley who is pregnant with her second child and has a toddler at her side, yet manages to line up interviews that keep our programming interesting and informative. Individuals like board member, Stella, who uses a crutch to help her balance, yet still manages to climb up the stains to our offices to make phone calls and help organize events.
The last cord in this cohesive bond is comprised of our donors – especially our Share the Light Partners. These individuals give sacrificially to OCN. Individuals like Maria who fought cancer this year, yet remained steadfast in sending in her partner donation. Individuals like Tom, Rich and Ester who lost family members, yet in their grief and pain, gave partner donations to keep memories of their loved ones alive. I am grateful for the loyalty and commitment of all of our donors.
The individuals mentioned (names have been changed to protect the innocent… God knows who they are), and many more, comprise the cords that bond together to create a strong rope to help our OCN listeners climb to heaven.
As 2012 unveils new trials and tribulations, I am thankful for both. In all things, God works for good, for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28.

"Why am I a financial supporter of the Orthodox Christian Network?Just as I am strengthened by the personal stories and advice from people who have undergone medical conditions similar to mine, when I listen to OCN news and commentary through the Orthodox perspective, I am strengthened by seeing how all of our life OCN and Faith Comfort a Partner experiences are connected. Just as I feel truly blessed to have been cured by modern medical resources that are only recently available, I likewise feel blessed to have access to the world of Orthodoxy through modern methods of communication."

"As Orthodox Christians, we are to let our light shine before men, "so they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven ". What a calling! Many Orthodox Christians, and I am one who is a "cradle Orthodox", really do not know our faith tradition as well as we should. OCN provides clear, accurate, informative, insightful programming for everyone. The programming with the vast array of guests, programs, and links provides those who are Orthodox and want to learn more about their faith and those who are not Orthodox with spiritually uplifting fellowship to further strengthen their relationship with Christ and His Church. The network has relative programs and guests with a good balance of patristic and current events that affect the Orthodox Christian in the twenty-first century. I support OCN because I believe in being a good steward of the blessings we are given in this life."

"The energy and vitality resides in the soul of each Individual. As the body is nourished, so must the soul in turn be nurtured to create internal harmony and balance. However, due to the worldly concerns and the negativity toward God, we are dangerously desensitized and our faith is eroded...Many magnificent churches have been built throughout the world. Today these extravagant structures are solely and sadly visited mainly by tourists viewed as museums, not as Life Giving - Holy Ground here on earth. We are in urgent need of God's Holy Power to free us from the inertia of sin. Our youth is searching and rebelling, unaware of their real need, looking for happiness in all the wrong places. The Word of God must go out to a desperately seeking humanity. What better way than OCN?"

"With so many Orthodox Christians marrying outside the faith and the need to reinforce the recent converts, the need for the work of the Orthodox Christian Network has never been greater. Those baptized Orthodox Christians, those new or considering taking up the faith, or those who are ambivalent about our faith need to be reinforced on the richness of the Orthodox Christian way. This can only be accomplished by providing OCN with the resources to do this necessary communications function."
