Share the Light Sunday is the day that Orthodox parishes throughout North America are asked to raise awareness about the work of our Church's official media ministry, The Orthodox Christian Network.  Traditionally, this day falls on the third Sunday of January, but your parish can participate in Share the Light Sunday whenever it fits into your calendar. 

As  a commissioned agency of the Assembly of Canonical Bishops of North and Central America, the Mission of OCN is to strengthen the Orthodox communities of North America and to share the timeless faith of Orthodoxy with the contemporary world by using modern media: radio, the Internet, podcasts, DVDs, television and more. 

The Vision of OCN is to inspire the faithful everywhere; raise up our children; call back the wayward; and reach out to our cities and towns with the joyful, Christ-centered message of the Orthodox Christian Church.

The Flagship program of the Network, "Come Receive the Light" highlights the faithful work of the many ministries and individuals of our Church and has now been broadcasting for 16 years.  In addition to Come Receive the Light, the Orthodox Christian Network hosts 18 podcast channels, 3 24/7 online radio stations and an Orthodox blog.  

We at OCN know that media is costly.  But we also believe that silence is even more costly.  Please stand with us as we seek to share our timeless Orthodox Christian Faith with North America and the entire world.  Please participate in  OCN's annual day of awareness, Share the Light Sunday, on January 15th, 2012 by telling the faithful of your parish about the mission, vision and work of The Orthodox Christian Network.  We also kindly ask that you please pass a tray in support of OCN so that this ministry can further share our beloved faith with more and more souls thirsting for the Truth.  Please feel free to make use of this short sermon to deliver in your parish.  Thank you for your love for the Truth, your desire to share it with the world and for your generous contributions.
