The Executive Director of the OCN Fr. Christopher Metropulos stated, "We are honored to welcome Dr. Moroson and his dedicated wife Helen as Program Director's of The RUDDER. They bring a wealth of knowledge and a zeal for the faith that our listeners will cherish for many years to come." Listeners will also enjoy the new interactive radio station page as well as featured programs. For those still wondering what the RUDDER is our directors offer the following. The Rudder aims to provide a serene listening experience of profound spiritual beauty, offering the finest recordings of Orthodox liturgical music around the clock, drawn from the world-wide heritage of Orthodox liturgical chant and sacred choral music. The Rudder also marks the feasts and seasons of the Orthodox liturgical year by means of musical programming. This Internet Radio station seeks to acquaint listeners with Orthodox music in a variety of styles, national origins, and languages.
The Orthodox Christian Network is one of the official agencies of SCOBA, commissioned by our hierarchs to create a national, sustainable and effective media witness for Orthodox Christianity throughout North America. OCN produces the only nationally syndicated Orthodox Christian radio broadcast, as well as several other outreach programs, including DVDs and Internet-based media, in direct collaboration with sister SCOBA agencies (e.g. IOCC, OCMC, OCF, OCPM), as well as with various Orthodox Christian jurisdictions and pan-Orthodox, para-church organizations. Our goal is to engage the broader culture of North America with Orthodox Christianity's rich theological, spiritual and moral heritage, and to thereby strengthen the Orthodox Church's witness and contribution to the culture in which we live.
