As a girl with a strong Evangelical background she sought out a local community of Protestants in Moscow where she eventually became a missionary. When divisive leaders began to arise in her Church, Christa was forced to question what the true Church ought to look like. She found more than she expected in Russia.

After being challenged by the theology of the Church Fathers as a college student, he discovered the Orthodox Church and the healing found therein with help from some persistent friends and the Theotokos."
