Programming is a fruit of collaboration of many clergy of St. Petersburg Diocese, professors of Spiritual Academy, instructors from St. Petersburg State University, staff from The State Hermitage, The Russian Museum and other cultural and scientific centers of St. Petersburg.

Radio Grad Petrov was founded with assistance of well-known to Russian audience radio Voice of Orthodoxy ( Голос Православия ), broadcasting from abroad in Russian since 1979. Radio Voice of Orthodoxy was created with efforts of wonderful, dedicated people, true patriots of Russia, Yavgueniy and Elena Pozdeyev. Long-time Chairman of Radio Voice of Orthodoxy is Protopresbyter Boris Bobrinsiy, former Dean of St. Sergius Theological Institute of Paris, France.

Grad Petrov is oriented to good traditions of Voice of Orthodoxy - no political activity and no polimics with traditional Christian confessions, programming is based upon positive experience of Orthodox Tradition, works of contemporary Orthodox theologians and preachers. The name was chosen with an idea to remain faithful to our purpose - Christian Evangelism. The name also reminds our listeners that St. Petersburg - City of Peter was named after St. Peter the Apostle, disciple of Christ.

On the other hand, anyone who is familiar with Russian literature, will effortlessly recall a fragment from Pushkin's The Copper Horseman: "Be beautiful, City of Peter"!
