THIS WEEK FROM THE ORTHODOX CHRISTIAN NETWORK

COME RECEIVE THE LIGHT - THE NATIONALLY SYNDICATED RADIO PROGRAM OF ORTHODOX CHRISTIANITY
Does it seem to you that everything is being called an addiction these days? Ben Wiker joins us to suggest that maybe we need to call our vices what they really are - sin. But first, OCN is honored to welcome Prof. Stanley Hauerwas, Professor of Theological Ethics at the Divinity School at Duke University, to the program. Prof. Hauerwas will share his thoughts on the difference between Christian morality and the secular notion of “being good.”
Stay tuned this month as we continue to explore the relationship between popular culture and morality.

OCN PODCASTS
On Theologically Thinking, With Thanksgiving we are encouraged to be thankful, but until we acknowledge that all our blessings are from God and for His glory, we remain focused upon our own needs rather than the needs of others. The Parable of the Rich Fool in Luke 12.16-21 helps us identify the risk and danger of this greedy outlook in life. “What shall I do?” asks the rich fool? How will we thank God for our blessings this year at Thanksgiving? Will be build bigger barns or serve our neighbor? On Special Moment of Orthodoxy, Daniel Miles will bring you a conversation from this year’s OCAMPR CONFERENCE which was held on November 4 and 5 in Brookline Mass.  Daniel speaks to Dr. Timothy Patitsas about his presentation on the lengthy text of St. Maximus the Confessor concerning prioritization of the existence of the soul and body.
