I would like to send you a writing by Bruce Scott. Written 'Israel My Glory' May/June 2007.
The Rapture He quotes these below! While I do not believe him, he makes a strong case.

John 14:3; 1 Corin 15:50-52; 1 Thess 4:13-18; Gen 5:24;
2 Kings 2:11; Heb 11: Rev 11:12; Acts 15:14;Rom. 11:25.
Daniel's 70 weeks Dan. 9:24-27
I would have to to say your list of scriptures proves a very basic point.

Your list of scriptures really highlights the primary weakness of the Protestant 'end times' models. Notice that your list cherry picks totally unrelated scriptures from all over the Bible. That is one major problem. The Protestant understanding of Revelations is not based on the book of Revelations, but rather on cherry-picking verses to twist out-of-context and then wed to poetic imagery from Revelations to create a coherent narrative. One, by the way, that is constantly changing. Not too long ago, the Soviet Union was Gog. Now the Muslim World is Gog - the great power that will usher in Armageddon by attacking Israel.

Next year, it will probably be Chine. Who knows? The bottom line - the Orthodox Church has the same teaching today as in the 1st Century on these topics. And we don't need to create elaborate models based on twisting scriptures to explain or undergird that teaching!
thanks for the comments - Glen and Dimitri

I will check out those verses as a combination, Demitri. And I would love a copy of that article. You can either send it to me at the University of San Diego, Theology and Religious Studies, 5998 Alcala Park, San Diego, CA 92110, or email it to me eugeniac@sandiego.edu. Thank you. Glen, your comments are right on target. I have an old video produced by a Protestant organization that identified Sadaam Hussein as the anti-Christ. As you pointed out, it used to be the Soviet Union.
Any more?

I'm assuming Jeannie is quite busy but couldn't help wondering if this series is ever going to be picked up again? It's great to hear the Church's view on this....we've had enough of the Left Behind mentality.
audio quality

could you clean up the audio on these at all? it makes it sound like dr. constantinou has a lisp, which i know from other recordings i've heard that she doesn't. anyhow, it's kind of distracting.
