New Study Class on St. John of the Ladder begins on Jan 4th
OCN News

The Orthodox Christian Network is introducing a new Study Class on St. John of the Ladder beginning on Jan 4 and will run every Sunday again starting at approximately 10:15 each morning for about 20-25 minutes.

The new program, The Ladder to Spiritual Heights- One Step at a Time, is based on The Ladder of Divine Ascent- St. John Climacus and Ascending the Heights- A Laymen's Guide by John Mack.

The new semester of Adult Study Classes will focus on a special book that has been part of the formation of Orthodox monastics since it was first written. Even today, each Lent it is read in its entirety in Orthodox monasteries throughout the world. But we would be wrong to think that this book is only for monastics, it is not. It is equally important for nonmonastic Orthodox Christians to study its contents and to apply its teachings to their own lives.

To attain the heavenly kingdom, it is necessary for each Orthodox Christian to ascend the same rungs of the Ladder. But the way in which we live out our spirituality will differ according to our calling and our responsibilities. Join Fr. Spiro and Fr. Chris as they walk you though and guide you up the Ladder of Divine Ascent each Sunday with this new and exciting program at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church also the home of the Orthodox Christian Network.

The classes will also be carried live on the web site of OCN at www.myocn.net and then also archived on the same site for future reference. Tell your relatives and friends about the class and invite them to attend with you each Sunday.
