At 7 pm a solemn memorial service will be conducted by US Patriarchal Vicar, His Grace Bishop Mercurius of Zaraisk, at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Patriarchal Cathedral, located at 15 East 97 Street, NY, NY.

The OCA chancery has also learned that a special session of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church will be convened in Moscow on Saturday, December 6, 2008, to appoint a Locum tenens of the Patriarchal Throne and to determine the time and place of the burial of His Holiness, Patriarch Aleksy.
