Fr. Chris and Rod Dreher of the Dallas Morning News discuss the elevation of His Beatitude Jonah to lead the OCA. Rod knows the new Metropolitan personally as His Beatitude made quite a mark on the church in Dallas in his time there. Noting that Metropolitan Jonah is a convert to Orthodoxy, Rod Dreher shares his insights into why the average American male's relationship to the Christian Faith is so troubled. Men are often absent from the scene in so many churches. But, seemingly, not in the Orthodox Church to which so many men, like the new Metropolitan, have been drawn. What is the missing piece of the puzzle that brings men to Orthodoxy, even as they are fleeing from Western Churches? Rod believes that men are looking for a healthy masculinity in Church, with the demanding nature of the Orthodox Faith attracting many men who are looking for the Marine Corps of Christianity.
