A key part of the General Assembly is the Young Adult Stewards program. Young adults, ages 18 – 30, from all of the member communions help with the organization and management of the Assembly, and observe and join in the proceedings.
John Paterakis, a member of the CWS Board of Directors, explained "Successful candidates will have the opportunity to interact with top leadership of the NCCCUSA and Church World Service, as well as to work closely with members of the Orthodox delegations such as Bishop Demetrios, Fr. Leonid Kishkovsky, Fr. Mark Arey, and Dr. Despina Prassas."
"This is a great opportunity to witness to Orthodoxy among representatives of other Christian communions, and to learn firsthand about the ecumenical experience," Paterakis added.
The application is available to be downloaded by clicking here. Deadline for submittal is September 12, 2008. Candidates with any degree of seminary training are particularly encouraged to apply.
