Ft.
Lauderdale, FL (October 2007) – For many of us the daily DYNAMIS Orthodox devotional
has become part of our every day spiritual routine. Now we can HEAR
DYNAMIS everyday on OCN’s two internet radio stations, The Ark and The
Rudder, and download the DYNAMIS podcast to hear at your convenience.
A
Minute with DYNAMIS will be providing introductions to the daily
meditations of DYNAMIS, a printed and online journal of St. George
Orthodox Cathedral in Wichita, Kansas - a parish of the Antiochian
Orthodox Archdiocese of North America. DYNAMIS aims to encourage the
Orthodox Faithful and others who are interested in reading Holy
Scripture with the Church. It follows the readings from Scripture
assigned for each day of the year. Special attention is given to the
Feast Days and the Fasting seasons. Each year, DYNAMIS focuses on one
portion of the three major sections of the Bible: for background – the
Septuagint version of the Old Testament, then on the Apostolic writings
such as Acts and the Epistles, and most important, the Four Gospels.
During
2007 the meditations focus on portions of the Old Testament.
Meditations on the Gospels will follow in 2008. A Minute with DYNAMIS
will briefly summarize an entire but short daily meditation and direct
listeners to its website where these complete meditations are
available. DYNAMIS is published by David Patton, a Reader of the
Wichita Cathedral, with editorial input from David Jasmer of Assumption
Orthodox Church in Scottsdale Arizona, and Joshua Sturgill and Meg
Patton of St. George Cathedral. A Minute with DYNAMIS is recorded and
offered by Jay Jones and Sandra Kopoev of the Wichita Cathedral. OCN is
proud to be partnering with the St. George Cathedral to offer this
vital spiritual inspiration to faithful and seeker alike.
Another
program being developed is Light from the Hill, a weekly program
originating from the campus of Hellenic College/Holy Cross Greek
Orthodox School of Theology that will feature special messages from
renowned speakers from all over the Orthodox Christian world who visit
and speak at the campus, interviews with faculty and staff about the
importance of an Orthodox Christian centered education, and reflections
from students about life at an Orthodox Christian College and Seminary.
OCN
is committed to brining you some of the finest Orthodox teaching
programs available to assist you in learning about our faith and giving
you the tools you need to articulate our faith to others. We will use
the most up to date technology available to us to minister the
life-changing and timeless message of Orthodox Christianity to an ever
growing and spiritually hungry world.
Orthodox Christian Network
(OCN), is an agency of SCOBA, the Standing Conference of Canonical
Orthodox Bishops in the Americas, and develops effective ways to use
modern media to raise awareness of our Orthodox faith in the minds of
the general population and to be an “assistant†to local parish priests
in keeping our faithful attached to the Church between worship
services. OCN produces the nationally syndicated radio program Come
Receive The Light and the 24 hour internet based radio ministries of
The Ark and The Rudder. For more information, go to www.myocn.net.
